CWA
is the largest telecommmunications union in the world and is comprised
of over 1,200 chartered locals which represents more than 700,000
private and public sector workers across the United States, Canada and
Puerto Rico.
CWA was founded in 1938 at meetings in Chicago and New Orleans.
First known as the National Federation of Telephone Workers, the
union later became the Communications Workers of America in 1947.
CWA members are employed in the industries of telecommunications,
customer service, manufacturing, airline, broadcasting, cable
television, journalism, publishing, printing, public
services, law enforcement, health care, and education.
CWA Local 3310 has a membership of over 1,200 employed by AT&T
Southeast, AT&T Mobility, AT&T Internet Services, AT&T
Utilities, Avaya, and independent print shops.
Our purpose is to uphold the collective bargaining agreements we have
in place and represent our members with respect to wages,
benefits, working conditions, and the security of their
employment.
